Escot House Weddings – Herman and Katie

Surrounded by a wonderful group of family and close friends, Herman & Katie recently tied the knot at Escot House in Devon. It is a stunning venue overlooking tranquil parkland and views of the lake, and when they approached us to photograph their wedding, we just couldn’t be more excited.

Their story really is a true love story. Herman, a South African guy, meets Katie, a girl from Devon, through a mutual friend in London. He invites her for coffee for their first date. Not too sure about how the first date really went, Herman tries again and invites Katie for a ride on the back of his bike to show her some of the London sites late on a sunny afternoon. She says yes, and you’ve guessed it, the rest is history!

We knew the day was going to be special with a lot of personal touches to décor and outfits, but we don’t think anyone was prepared for how heartfelt and emotionally charged (quite a few not-so-many-dry-eyes throughout the day) this wedding was going to be! We loved every minute of it, and we know all the guests did too! An absolute highlight of the day (one of many), was the Ceilidh band who was sure to get everyone on their feet with some awesome folk music and dancing. All in all it was a day filled with wonderful memories and we’d like to share a few of these with you. Herman & Katie, you are a perfect match and we wish you all the best for your future together as husband and wife!
