Eastern Free State Wedding Photographers
It is understandable that most couples, and especially Eastern Free State Wedding Photographers, wish for dry and sunny weather on a wedding day. Just the thought of the possibility of rain can be quite stressful, especially if the whole wedding was planned to happen in perfect weather. Life, as we know, can be a little ironic at times, as Alanis Morissette also sings, ESPECIALLY when it rains on your wedding day!
So, unfortunately this was the case for Zandre & Julian’s special day. Not only had most of the Eastern Free State Wedding Photographers not seen rain for a while, but it started chucking it down just as we were about to start with the couple portraits. “Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think? A little too ironic.”
On the other hand, how many of us have heard that rain on a wedding day is actually meant to bring good luck to the happy couple? (I mean, who in their right mind would tell a bride that rain is a sign of bad luck anyway)!! Not that we think Zandre & Julian need any good luck, as we think they really are perfect for each other, but it was interesting to find out how rain represents many things in so many different cultures – some of which include cleansing, unity, renewal and tears. My favourite has to be UNITY. They say that when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, apparently a knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie and therefore, the marriage will supposedly be just as hard to unravel.
Fortunately, we were able to get a few shots of the happy couple (and bridal party) outside, albeit in the rain! No dramatic clouds, just soft rain against white cloud. But that made us think again about the importance of a wedding day. It is the union of two people who love each other and their most loved people are there to celebrate with them – in the end, that is all that counts.
Zandre & Julian, we are so glad to see that you had a good time. You guys have been amazing, not just in our dealings with you, but also to see how you eventually didn’t mind a bit of wet weather and how absolutely made the best of a not-so-dry situation. All the best to you both for an amazing future!
