Nooitgedacht weddings

For anyone wondering what Nooitgedacht weddings are all about, when you see Rene & Andre’s beautiful wedding at this amazing venue, you’ll wonder no further!

Nooitgedacht  is a family owned historical Cape Dutch wine estate in the Stellenbosh area with a homestead and outbuildings that date back to 1774. Stellenbosch is South Africa’s second-oldest settlement, after Cape Town, and is perhaps the most famous wine-producing region in South Africa.

Welcoming guests with old worldly charm, warmth and history, Nooitgedacht weddings will leave you with a feeling of romance, and it is also interesting to know that Cecil John Rhodes once resided here. Of all the Estates, farms and manor houses owned by Cecil John Rhodes at the height of his power, Nooitgedacht was the one he selected as his own private residence. And when you visit the Estate with its Cape Dutch manor house and outbuildings spread around a lush garden with beautiful old trees, it’s easy to understand why.

From a Nooitgedacht weddings point of view, the gardens and old buildings are excellent for wedding photography and it is also a perfect setting for a memorable and romantic wedding day.  The original cellar with its rustic atmosphere is used for the reception function and can be tastefully decorated to add individual personality to the occasion. And this is where we want to give a big shout out to all the wonderful suppliers who made the day so amazingly beautiful for us to capture. We absolutely loved all of the details and personal touches!

We had been looking forward to this wedding (for many reasons) ever since Rene and Andre booked us. Not only do Rene and I share the same name, but we also went to school together! Oh, and of course it meant a trip to one of our favourite parts in South Africa! And who doesn’t want to get married on a wine estate?!
